Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational returns Dec. 9-11

Nov. 11, 2021—Another talent-filled tournament field returns to CFISD for the 12th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational, scheduled for Dec. 9-11 at three high school campuses and the Berry Center. The event is hosted by the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (CFEF) in partnership with Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Houston Methodist West Hospital.

The three-day tournament features Premier Sponsors Wainwright Dental & Associates, P.C., Spradley Endodontics and Spring Cypress Oral Surgery and Implant Center. Xerox Business Solutions Southwest will serve as the bracket sponsor. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund Cy-Fair Educational Foundation scholarships for graduating CFISD seniors and staff development programs.

Cypress Park and Jersey Village high schools will join the 10 other CFISD boys’ basketball teams in competing in the 12th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational, which will be held Dec. 9-11 at Cy-Fair, Cypress Falls and Cypress Park high schools and the Berry Center.

CFISD’s 12 high school boys’ basketball teams will participate in the tournament, with Cy-Fair, Cypress Falls and Cypress Park high schools serving as host sites. Cypress Ranch and Cypress Park enter the 2021-2022 season ranked in the top 25 for the state according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Also included in the tournament are five teams—McKinney, Mansfield Summit, South Grand Prairie, Alvin Shadow Creek and Humble Summer Creek—ranked in their respective TABC state polls.

The championship game is set for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Berry Center.
