Student athletic trainers named to TSATA Academic All-State Team

Feb. 15, 2022—Seventeen CFISD student athletic trainers from six high schools were named to the 2021-2022 Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association (TSATA) Academic All-State Team, with each student being recognized during the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society (GHATS) Student Workshop.

CFISD Academic All-State Team members were presented with certificates at the workshop. Students who earned the recognition met the following requirements:

  • be graduating seniors;
  • possess an overall grade-point average of 92 including grades 9-11 and in the first six weeks of their senior year;
  • be in good standing as athletic training students at the nominating trainer’s high school; and
  • possess good moral character.

The following CFISD student trainers qualified for the 2021-2022 Academic All-State Team:

  • Shelby Blanton, Bridgeland High School;
  • Haley Castillo, Bridgeland High School;
  • McKenzie Clark, Bridgeland High School;
  • Gina Colunga, Bridgeland High School;
  • Amanda Moreland, Bridgeland High School;
  • Isabella Hamstard, Cy-Fair High School;
  • Allyson Vanderzyden, Cy-Fair High School;
  • Allison Galdamez, Cypress Park High School;
  • Naomi Lewis, Cypress Park High School;
  • Nae Meh, Cypress Park High School;
  • Marena Beshara, Cypress Ranch High School;
