Eight CFISD soccer teams earn bi-district postseason victories

Cypress Woods High School junior Erica Jimenez and the Wildcats defeated Tomball, 1-0, on March 24 to advance to the area round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs. The Wildcats will face Conroe Grand Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at Conroe ISD’s Woodforest Stadium. 

March 28, 2022—Eight CFISD boys’ and girls’ soccer teams won their respective Region II-6A and Region III-6A bi-district playoff matches March 24-25 to advance to the area round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs.

District 16-6A girls’ soccer results were as follows:

Cypress Woods High School defeated Tomball, 1-0. The Wildcats advance to the area round to face Conroe Grand Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at Conroe ISD’s Woodforest Stadium (19115 David Memorial Dr.)

Cypress Ranch High School defeated Klein Oak, 2-1. The Mustangs advance to the area round to play Aldine MacArthur at 5:30 p.m. on March 29 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road).

Bridgeland High School ended its season with a 5-2 double-overtime loss to Tomball Memorial. The Bears were co-District 16-6A champions and bi-district finalists.

Cypress Falls High School ended its season with a 4-0 loss to Klein. The Eagles were District 16-6A’s fourth seed and bi-district finalists.

The 16-6A boys’ soccer results were as follows:

Cypress Ranch defeated Klein Forest, 3-2, and advance to the area round to clash with The Woodlands at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at Klein Collins High School (20811 Ella Blvd.)

Bridgeland defeated Klein Cain, 2-1. The Bears advance to the area round to face Conroe Grand Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.

Langham Creek High School ended its season with a 2-1 double-overtime loss to Klein. The Lobos finish the season as District 16-6A champions and bi-district finalists.

Cypress Lakes High School ended its season with a 3-0 loss to Tomball. The Spartans finish as District 16-6A’s fourth seed and bi-district finalists.

Jersey Village High School senior Gilberto Gutierrez and the Falcons defeated Houston Westbury, 3-1, on March 25.
Jersey Village High School senior Gilberto Gutierrez and the Falcons defeated Houston Westbury, 3-1, on March 25 to advance to the area round of the UIL Class 6A playoffs. The Falcons will meet Katy Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on March 29 at Pridgeon Stadium. 

District 17-6A girls’ soccer results were as follows:

Cy-Fair High School defeated Houston Heights, 7-1. The Bobcats advance to the area round to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 6 p.m. on March 29 at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway).

Cypress Creek High School ended its season with a 2-1 loss to Houston Bellaire. The Cougars finish the season as District 17-6A’s fourth seed and bi-district finalists.

District 17-6A boys’ soccer results were as follows:

Cypress Creek defeated Houston Westside, 2-0. The Cougars advance to the area round to play Katy Cinco Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road).

Jersey Village High School defeated Houston Westbury, 3-1, and advance to the area round to face Katy Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on March 29 at Pridgeon Stadium.

Cypress Ridge High School defeated Houston Bellaire, 2-1. The Rams advance to the area round to meet Katy Seven Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 at Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium (1830 Katyland Drive).  

Tickets for all contests will be sold at the gate for $5 apiece (adults and students). All tickets for contests hosted by CFISD will be cash only.
