CFISD names new assistant superintendent of support services

Darin Crawford, director of nutrition services, was named CFISD’s new assistant superintendent of support services effective April 18.

Crawford began his career as the income audit/personnel coordinator for the Sheraton New Orleans North, where he worked for two years. He moved to the Chateau Sonesta Hotel in New Orleans, receiving two promotions to take over as controller. He served there eight years before arriving in Houston in 2003 to take the controller position at the Sam Houston Hotel. In 2004, he accepted the assistant director of finance position at the Hilton Americas in Houston, working four years.

He arrived in CFISD in 2008, working as the accountant and assistant director of nutrition services before being named director of nutrition services in 2012.

Crawford received a bachelor of science in hotel restaurant and tourism administration from the University of New Orleans and obtained a master of business administration with a concentration in educational leadership from the University of Louisiana – Monroe.

“For the past 10 years, I have had the honor and privilege of leading the best child nutrition team in the nation,” Crawford said. “Their passion for our students and community is awe-inspiring, and I am grateful to have been a part of the work that they do. I am excited to have this opportunity to work with the dedicated women and men in our other support departments. In CFISD we have a long tradition of putting our students first. I look forward to carrying on that tradition.”
