Dec. 14, 2022—Representatives from Andy’s Kitchen and Andy’s Bar & Grill visited the staff at Labay Middle School on Dec. 12 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.

CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.

For Andy Correa, owner of the restaurants, giving back to the CFISD community has become the norm. He was intentional in partnering with Labay, where he attended as a student.

“It’s always good to give back to the community,” Correa said. “Giving back to the staff for what they do and also helping the students here as much as I can. So when I was able to adopt a school and adopt Labay, it was something special. This was part of my beginning years ago.”

The adoption is the second for Labay—Rayzor Sharp Barber Shop established an Adopt-a-School partnership in August. Dr. Michael Contreras, Labay principal, expressed his gratitude for Andy’s Kitchen, Correa and the partner’s commitment to helping play an integral part in the education process.

“We could not be more excited to partner with Andy Correa from Andy’s Kitchen,” Contreras said. “As a former Labay Eagle, we appreciate Andy’s commitment to not only our campus but to the many schools he continues to support. Andy truly represents the meaning of giving back to the community. Our faculty and staff look forward to building a strong partnership with Andy’s Kitchen as we continue to support, educate and grow our Labay Eagles.”
