CFISD welcomed students back to school on the first day of the 2023-2024 school year, Aug. 28.
Four MUD districts that serve the Copeland ES community, along with funds from the Copeland PTO, helped buy a new piece of playground equipment for the school.

Tracy Jacobsen, director of instruction at Smith MS, was named the new principal at Farney ES. Jacobsen replaces Dr. Tricia Reilly, who was named the human resources director of professional staffing and employee relations.

Tonya Hall, director of instruction at ALC-East, was named the new principal at the campus. Hall replaces Andrea Lagard, who was named the principal at Watkins MS.
CFISD students competed at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, earning several awards.
Cy-Fair HS quarterback Trey Owens and Langham Creek HS tight end Jordan Washington were named to the Touchdown Club of Houston 2023 UIL High School Preseason Football Team.
