Debbie Blackshear has served on the CFISD Board of Trustees since 2015 and was re-elected to her second term in November 2019. A 41-year resident of the CFISD community, Mrs. Blackshear lives in the Cypress Village subdivision with her husband, Paul. Both of her children, Jason (Class of 1994) and Jeremy (Class of 1996), graduated from Cy-Fair High School.

Mrs. Blackshear served as president of Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union from 1995 until her 2012 retirement. She regularly volunteers at Danish Elementary School, reading to students and coordinating the annual staff appreciation luncheon and Christmas cookie treats through her church, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. She also reads to students at Emmott Elementary School and mentors at Cook Middle School, and has volunteered as a Bus Buddy since the inception of the program.

Mrs. Blackshear has participated on several CFISD Long-Range Planning Committees since the 1990s, including co-chairing the LRPC that developed a 2014 Bond recommendation to the Board of Trustees. She has participated in the CFISD Livestock Show and Sale as a volunteer and buyer for 28 years, and is a former member of the Cy-Fair High School FFA Booster Club (1990-1996) and current member of the Cypress Ranch High School FFA Booster club (2017-present).

A long-time trustee for the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation (1996-present), Mrs. Blackshear also serves on the Cy-Hope Board of Directors (2011-present) and with Junior Achievement, Exchange City. She is a member of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, currently serves as the Cy-Fair John Fox Chamber Herd Co-Chair and previously served as CFEF Salute to our Heroes Co-Chair (2009-2011).
